Tofu Scramble with Homemade Spice Mix

  • 1 block Firm Tofu
  • ½ cup Nutritional Yeast
  • 4 tsp Black Salt
  • 3 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Ground Turmeric
  • 1 tbsp Vegan Butter

Instructions

  1. In a small jar or bowl, combine the nutritional yeast, black salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and ground turmeric. Stir or shake well to form the spice mix.
  2. Melt the vegan butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the crumbled tofu to the skillet, breaking it into scrambled-egg-sized pieces with a spatula or wooden spoon.
  4. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of the spice mix evenly over the tofu. Stir well to coat all the pieces and cook for 5 to 7 minutes until heated through and lightly golden.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve immediately. Store any remaining spice mix in a sealed jar in the pantry for future use.
